About

Jared B. HobbsThis site houses the random ruminations of the author on arbitrary topics chosen by personal interest.

Jared B. Hobbs harbors a deep and ofttimes desperate interest in spirituality, mythology, psychology, comparative religion, and other topics of interest to the Scholars of Consciousness.

An early fascination with fantasy exposed Jared to the realms of magic and mythology.  As the existential examination expanded, an interest in horror and later science fiction were eventually established.  These modes of entertainment were also avenues of exploration to add to the regular academic schooling received.  Much time was spent in self-education as well, absorbing theoretical physics and other advanced topics not broached in grade school.

Being of multi-ethnic origin, Jared was exposed to two religious traditions which both largely influence his thinking.  Raised in the buckle of the Bible belt, Jared was trained and welcomed into the Southern Baptist Christian community.  He was also continually exposed to the culture of the other side of his heritage, Japanese Buddhism.  These experiences instilled a sense of non-exclusivity which has led to affiliations with many more religious organizations and spiritual traditions.

Jared continued his scholarly education to include collegiate degrees in Nuclear Engineering and Psychology.  While time has been spent in both fields of study and work, he now finds himself employed as a counselor at a residential treatment facility for trouble teens.

Spreading himself too thin as always, Jared enjoys spending his time reading and writing on topics related to consciousness; writing, recording, and mixing music; and creating new relationships and fostering old friendships.

Jared was born in 1984 and is still alive and suffering well.
